TARANTULA: Customizable Search & Recovery Robot

The Tarantula is KumoTek's answer to the growing demand for flexible and cost-effective search and recovery operations both at home, and in the field. Utilizing a pair of forward mounted flippers, two stabilizing accelerometers, a CCD camera, and onboard imaging and thermal sensors, the custom made Tarantula can navigate through hazardous terrain with exceptional mobility, while providing real time situational reports to your operations center. As a versatile search and recovery platform, the Tarantula offers a wide variety of options found in other comparable robots....at less than half the price.

Why the Tarantula?

The flexibility and capabilities provided by robots for law enforcement, emergency response teams, ordinance disposal, and military operations have been proven time and time again. Tracked robots have demonstrated their ability to replace humans in a wide-variety of hazardous, and otherwise unsafe applications, by allowing the operator to remotely:

• climb and descend stairs

• survey small and confined areas

• scour unsafe areas for spills, and unauthorized activities

• detect toxins and radioactive materials

• deliver tools, water and medical supplies to trapped or injured personnel

The Tarantula is a highly practical and cost effective alternative to the more expensive search and recovery technologies currently being deployed by the DoD, and other larger organizations. This robot is ideal for schools, local municipalities, police departments and search and rescue squads.
Since this robot is custom made to order, and can be adapted to meet the users specifications, please allow at least one month for preparation, assembly and shipment.
This robot is covered under a three year parts and labor warranty.

SPIDERBOT: Quad Axis Crawler Robot

The Spiderbot is a unique adaptation to the Tarantula, designed to provide agile movement and spiderlike capabilities for climbing into hard to reach areas.

This robot is easily adapted to harness a manipulator (robotic arm) with camera mount and grippers.
